The Pierre Cartier Foundation, established on September 19th 1996, is a non profit-making foundation based in Geneva. It is overseen by the Supervisory Authorities for Foundations under Swiss Law. Its founders are the five daughter who are heirs of the late Mrs Marion Cartier, who died in Geneva on March 20th 1994 at the age of 83.

After the death of their mother, the only daughter of Mr. Pierre Cartier, the heirs decided to set up the above-mentionned foundation with the aim of preserving and displaying, for cultural and charitable purposes, the different collections of jewels created by their grandfather.

Since its creation, the Foundation has become the owner of a collection of jewellery essentially from the late Mrs Marion Cartier who, herself, received it during her lifetime from her father at the time of commemorative events, birthdays or family parties.
